"They wanted to make sure there's an economy of value there," Faliszek said. *sigh*Īccording to Valve, it was Microsoft's decision to charge for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead's soon-to-be-released DLC dubbed "Crash Course." In a talk with Eurogamer, Valve's Chet Faliszek said that Valve owns its platform, Steam, and Microsoft owns theirs. But mostly for games I don't fucking own. It's funny how it's a little bit like Christmas whenever FREE DLC for consoles pops up. You can't be the only dude without "ZOMG NEW MAPPACK 5 FOR $10!" because all your friends are playing with that content. (In before "ZOMG SEK IS TROLLIN'" despite the fact that generally I bring cold hard negative opinions on shit)Įdit: And yeah, console gamers are mostly cattle on this front. #Brutal legend ps3 sound issue for freeOh and people that defend Gold XBL is :lol :lol :lol given that most of the "features" on XBL Gold can be done on other services for free or cheaper. now that they're shifting from Game Content updates (sup Tsunami/X-box Live 3.0 update that was supposed to bring Map Editors *that only Pharah and Far Cry support* to games) into "We now support Netflix! We now support Disney movies! We now support social media!" But as the years have gone on, more and more MS bullshit has made it REALLY FUCKING HARD for me to justify the $50 a year I have spent over the past 4-5 years (I got onto Live in 2004 since my area just got broadband then). The $50 a year charge was a bit bullshit on XBL launch, but it was passable for the time given the level of service we were getting on a console for the time. Funny thing is, if you plug your Original X-box in, and put in an XBL game right now.
